The Ravaa Story

We’re Mike and Joe, the co-founders of Ravaa. We’re dads just like you. And probably just like you, we had some experiences when we were becoming fathers that led us to start this brand - to make sure Dads are supported on their journey.

It all started in 2020 while Mike and Joe were living in Columbus, OH. The two were catching up on life over a few virtual (covid) beers and got onto the topic of being a dad. As they were catching up on fatherhood they realized that they shared a similar point of view on the role of dad changing as they were both experiencing it first hand. Their partners were high performers and passionate about their careers and thus challenging the guys to be strong supporters.

As they discussed the changing role in subsequent conversations they realized that they also shared a similar experience as they were becoming dads, that there wasn't a lot out there for dads. As brand management thinkers, they decided to launch a brand for dads and provide them with products to help make their lives just a tad bit easier.

Mike Kemp

Dad of Kai and Mika

For me, it all started at the baby store when I was expecting my son, Kai. I was standing in front of the shelf of diaper bags and was excited to gear up. My wife’s nickname for me is “the Mule,” because it’s my job to carry everything, so obviously I went looking for a nice bag designed for a dude. What I found instead was a wall of flowery, purse-like Mommy bags. I just remember thinking… seriously? This is the best we can do? No.

Joe Hwalek

Dad of Leo and Cal

I always wanted to be a Dad. I have an amazing Dad who gave me a great childhood. So, I knew that I wanted to give my children the same opportunities that I had. When I found out I was officially becoming a Dad, I went crazy on the internet searching for everything I thought I needed to be successful. Much to my surprise, there wasn't a lot out there for Dads. The lack of products and information sparked my passion to combine being a Dad with the opportunity to provide other Dads with the things we need to succeed.
